Het 12de Congres BVOI, in samenwerking met BVP, brengt vijf gerenommeerde sprekers op het podium:

Andy Temmerman

Andy Temmerman

Prof. Andy Temmerman graduated in 2007 as a dentist at UGent and in 2010 as an EFP certified periodontist at the KULeuven. In 2017 he obtained his doctorate entitled "Impaired bone quantity and quality and oral implants: evaluation of treatment strategies". In 2018 he was appointed head lecturer at KU Leuven, Department of Periodontology.

He is mainly involved in clinical studies on oral implants, sinus augmentation techniques and L-PRF. In 2015 he won the Dentsply Implants Research Award, with research on implant placement in very limited amounts of bone. In the same year he also won the Award for best surgically oriented research of the EAO (European Association for Osseointegration).

He regularly publishes in national and international peer-reviewed journals and he is a frequent speaker in Belgium and abroad. He works in a private practice in Aalst, focusing exclusively on periodontology and implantology.

France Lambert

France Lambert

Prof. France Lambert graduated in dentistry in 2002 and also completed a post-graduate program in Periodontology at the University of Liège. In 2005, she received an ITI scholarship to expand her education in implantology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

She is Associate Professor in Dental Biomaterials and Head of the Clinic at the Department of Periodontology and Oral Surgery at the University of Liège. Her clinical activity is dedicated to periodontology and implantology.

The focus of her research is (1) bone regeneration and biomaterials, (2) soft tissue integration around teeth and implants and (3) innovative and less invasive implant protocols.

She is lecturing internationally and is the author of several international publications. France Lambert is the Chair of the Belgian ITI section and the past-President of the Belgian Society of Periodontology.

Amélie Mainjot

Prof. Amélie Mainjot received her DDS degree from the University of Liège in 1997. From 1997 to 2000 she completed a post-graduate program in Oral Rehabilitation at the same university. In 2007 she obtained a Master of Science degree in Dental Materials Technology from Paris Descartes University (France).

In 2008 she started research in the Innovative Biomaterials and Interfaces Research Unit (URB2I) at the Paris Descartes University Dental School. In 2011 she obtained her PhD degree from the University of Paris 13 and from the University of Liège.

From 2011 to 2014, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Dental Biomaterials at the Paris Descartes University Dental School. In 2014, she became an Associate Professor in Dental Biomaterials at the University of Liège.

She is involved in pre-doctorate and post-doctorate education, focusing on dental materials. She is the co-director of the Dental Biomaterials Research Unit (d-BRU) of the University of Liege.

Her scientific interest is dental ceramics, particularly zirconia, innovative CAD-CAM composites and minimally invasive treatment strategies development, particularly using digital workflow.

She has a clinical practice in esthetics and restorative dentistry as Head of Clinic in the department of Fixed Prosthodontics at the University Hospital of Liège.

She lectures internationally, is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and of various scientific organizations.

She is the author of several international publications about dental materials and esthetic dentistry, and acts as a reviewer for international journals in the same field.

David Nisand

Dr. David Nisand received a DDS degree from the University of Paris 5 along with a specialization in Periodontology and Implantology from the University of Paris 7.

He is a guest lecturer at the Department of Periodontology, University of Paris 5, President of the French Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology and Board Member of the EAO congress committee.

Author of several international peer reviewed publications and book chapters.

Dr. Nisand currently performs clinical work limited to periodontics and implant dentistry in Paris, France.

Philippe Khayat

Philippe Khayat
Université Paris VII (FR)

Dr. Philippe Khayat received his dental degree from the University of Paris in 1979. In 1986, he graduated from the University of Washington where he received his Certificate in Perio-Prosthodontics and his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD).

He is Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington and has been the President of several French organizations including the Société Française de Dentisterie Esthétique.

He has published articles in several French and international journals including the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants, Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research and the Journal of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Khayat currently maintains a private practice limited to Oral Implantology in Paris, France.
